Our Primary presidency is encouraging anyone who would like to substitute in primary to take the "Protecting Children and Youth" training. This training takes about 30 minutes and is good for 3 years.
Our Missionaries are in need of service hours. Please reach out to them or to Sister Ihli if you or someone you know could use some service.
Ministering is truly loving and caring for others as the Savior would. It is a way of being; it is the way of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is not a program or a checklist; ministering is the essence of who God is and who we can become as we follow Him.

With a new Relief Society Presidency in place, we thank you for the love and support we feel as we learn our duties in our new callings!
The Church Handbook 9.2.3.2 states that "Relief Society is a divinely instituted organization for all adult women in the Church. The Prophet Joseph Smith taught that the purpose of Relief Society is to save souls and relieve suffering. He stated that the Church of Jesus Christ was not fully organized until the sisters were so organized."
The sisters meet in Relief Society on Sunday for the following purposes:
Strengthen faith and learn of Christ and testify of Christ
Build unity so sisters feel they belong
Strengthen families and homes
We are excited that beginning in September, we will be able to meet together most every Sunday in Relief Society as Sisters in Zion! We look forward to the opportunity to get to know our sisters better and hope you will all feel a part of this great worldwide organization - no matter if you serve in Relief Society or Young Women or Primary. You are all an integral part of the Avalon Ward Relief Society sisterhood.
Please contact us if we can be of service to you or your family.

This month we are collecting: CEREAL HOT AND BOXED.
